CULTURAL IMMERSION TRIPS
Our teen travel programs don’t just take students all around the world – they also profoundly expand young people’s cultural horizons. Here at The Road Less Traveled, we are experts in teen cultural immersion programs and provide travel experiences in an authentic and meaningful way. When young travelers join us on a journey across the globe, they get to learn about cultures, traditions, faiths, heritage, and local customs, that may differ considerably from what they have grown to know.
Students immersing themselves in an unfamiliar culture as part of a summer program enables them to gain an international perspective, and to think in terms beyond their own community and lifestyle. It allows for experiential education, not just reading about it from a classroom. Such adventurous travel gives students perspective, and presents them with the chance to reflect on their own way of life.
Cultural immersion experiences look different on each trip with RLT. They may include visiting historic temples or buildings; participating in local ceremonies, festivals, or traditions; spending time within local communities and learning about their way of life; and/or tasting and making traditional food and drink from that region.
