BOOKING WITH CONFIDENCE FOR 2021
It is safe to say that 2020 has been a year like no other! With the ongoing pandemic fueling uncertainty and change on an almost daily basis, it can be hard to make plans and think of the future. But something that has remained consistent throughout this year, and will remain for future years, is the positive impact that getting kids into the outdoors, unplugged and switched on to new experiences, cultures and adventures can have on their personal development.
We are excited to have launched our 2021 Summer trip program enrollment and cannot wait to help provide these formative experiences to kids next year. As always, participants’ physical and emotional wellbeing is always our number one priority, and this will remain at the forefront of all of our decisions for the safe running of Summer 2021 programs. Therefore, we wanted to highlight some of the key areas where we have implemented change and protocols to help you feel confident in booking with RLT.
2020 Experience
We are proud to be one of the only companies that ran trips this summer amidst a pandemic. Right from the start, we worked with CDC, pediatricians, epidemiologists, and the American Camp Association (ACA) to develop protocols for handling COVID-19 on our programs. Through those efforts we were able to create a robust “playbook” relating to all protocols and procedures to mitigate exposure risk to COVID-19 as much as possible. Having the experiences from 2020 to draw upon (which remained COVID-free within our groups), we are able to focus on implementing these tried and tested procedures into our 2021 programming. We saw first hand how important these trip experiences are to young people during a pandemic, and with a robust structure and redesigned programs, we are looking forward to providing more of these experiences next summer.
COVID Protocols
We have introduced a range of different COVID protocols and carefully redesigned trip elements to help keep our participants and leaders safe. From testing and quarantining beforehand, to daily temperature and symptom checks during the trips, we are confident these processes will mitigate exposure to COVID-19 as much as possible. You can find more information about our COVID protocols and some FAQ’s on our COVID Response page.
Free Travel Protection Plan
While we are confident in our COVID trip protocols, we are also cognizant that there is plenty of uncertainty that remains for families across the country. With this in mind, we are prioritizing systems and plans to ensure we are able to ‘do right’ by our families, regardless of changing circumstances. Consequently, we can now offer “Group Travel Protection” on all trips we are running, at no additional cost to you. This includes various post departure benefits for all participants. If you would like to find out more about this plan, get in touch and we can provide a full breakdown of the plan.
Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR)
For early enrollees (before December 15) you will also get a “cancel for any reason policy” (CFAR) added to your trip protection for no additional cost. This means if you were to cancel for any reason between the time of booking through until 48 hours prior to departure, you would get a 75% refund. For families booking after this date, CFAR can be added for an additional cost of $250 to help protect your investment.
Trip Cancellations
In the event where RLT is unable, or doesn’t feel comfortable running a trip, we want to make sure we are again doing right by our families. In this situation we have a few options available. As part of our 2021 trip selection we have included a set of domestic trips that can be easily adapted to be run in a “refuge style” that allows each RLT group to function as a “bubble” and therefore drastically reduce any interaction with the public. In the chance that we do need to cancel some trips due to COVID, we will work with families to try to find a good fit for the participant to travel on an alternate trip. If that is not a possible option, we can either roll funds to a Summer 2022 trip, or provide a full refund.
With additional trip protection in place, a transparent cancelation policy and previous experience running trips in a pandemic, we hope this will help reassure you that RLT is the right choice for your kids next summer.
